Comprehensive Wound Center

The Athens Regional Comprehensive Wound Center strives to be the leader in the treatment of acute and chronic wounds. We combine state-of-the-art technology, compassionate expertise and excellent clinical care to promote complete wound healing. Our staff of highly trained and dedicated wound care specialists works closely with you and your primary care physician to coordinate a specialized treatment plan. Your plan will include a full evaluation and address all of the factors that are necessary for wound healing. With over 50 years combined wound experience, the Athens Regional Wound and Ostomy Center is employed by certified Wound and Ostomy nurses, Certified Wound Specialists, physical therapists, and credentialed physicians.

Our staff is available to evaluate any type of wound. The most commonly treated wounds are:

  • diabetic ulcers
  • venous statis ulcers
  • pressure ulcers (bed sores)
  • wounds resistant to healing and
  • wounds caused by poor circulation, trauma or surgery

If needed we will coordinate your treatment with the expertise of plastic surgeons, general surgeons, vascular surgeons, dermatologists, orthopedists or other specialists. Referrals can be made by your physician, health care provider, or by self-referral.

Evaluations with the wound physician are scheduled for Monday, Wednesday or Friday from 8:30am-12:00pm. Registration is done on-site, and no pre-registration is required.
