![]() ARMC Continues to Participate in State Indigent Care Trust Fund “Our mission at Athens Regional Medical Center is to meet the healthcare needs of all citizens of northeast Georgia, regardless of their ability to pay. The Indigent Care program allows us to adequately and efficiently provide services to the area’s underprivileged,” remarked Drew. “As always, we continue to be committed to serving everyone in our community.” The Indigent Care Trust Fund provides matching monies to ARMC’s contribution, thus allowing the 315-bed hospital to implement primary health care programs to those citizens who are Medicaid recipients or are unable to pay for their medical care. Programs and services targeted for the indigent include: diabetes education programs, diagnostic testing, mammography screenings, oncology screenings, expansion of community outreach education and health screening clinics, nurse midwifery program, HPV risk reduction, HIV prevention, school-based health education, parental awareness and involvement, and services for high-risk mothers and children. The hospital and local media publish complete information about these programs and screenings. For more information on these or any of the services offered at Athens Regional Medical Center, please call (706) 475-3436. |
