Hospital Volunteer Named Humanitarian of the Year

Athens, GA (May 22, 2002) - Miriam Huebner has dedicated her life to helping people in the Athens community. For nearly 40 years, she has faithfully served as a volunteer for Athens Regional Medical Center. In the early 70's, she served as President of the ARMC Auxiliary and currently spends her time as a volunteer in the hospital's gift shop, The Pink Posy. In fact, The Pink Posy was started during her term as president. Last year, she was honored for giving more than 8,000 volunteer hours as an Auxilian.

At a reception Tuesday night, May 21, 2002, at Trumps at the Georgian, The Pillar Society of the Athens Regional Foundation presented the J.W. Fanning Humanitarian of the Year award to Mrs. Huebner.
