![]() What Women Need to Know About Football Proudly brought to you Athens Regional Medical Center's SportsCare Program Is there a special person in your life who loves football? Do you wish you knew more about the game and how it is played? If you answered 'yes' these questions, then don't miss What Women Need to Know About Football, a three-hour educational program, Saturday, August 23rd at Athens Regional Medical Center's Medical Services Building on King Avenue. This informative, fun event will teach you all the basics of the game from Pop Warner League to the NFL. The seminar features actual players running 'plays', a certified referee demonstrating and explaining penalties and hand signals and a local high school football coach will provide insightful explanations of the X's and O's of the game. There will also be local physician and athletic trainer discussing common injuries, injury prevention and injury treatment. "This is Football 101 for women who have always wanted to know more about the game, but were too shy or embarrassed to ask," said Athens Regional SportsCare Program representative Mike Pilcher. "Women who attend this program will walk away with a better understanding of the X's and O's of football." Admission is $5 for pre-registered participants and $8 at the door. Pre-registration is encouraged as space is limited. Registration and Check-in begin at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 23, 2003. The program will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Lunch will be provided by Chick-fil-A at Georgia Square Mall, and several door prizes will be raffled, including a pair of tickets to a 2003 University of Georgia home game!
