What Can You Find at the Center?

The key element in the Loran Smith Center for Cancer Support is the healing relationship that is formed when one person cares for and understands the concerns of another. These relationships can occur at many points along the way from diagnosis through the treatment and post-treatment. They occur with family, friends and professional care givers such as physicians, nurses, chaplains, social workers, and other professional staff. At the Center for Cancer Support, we provide an environment where one can find information and support at whatever level is needed. There is a growing resource library of books and tapes about cancer, coping skills for adjusting to the changes in your body and lifestyles, spiritual care, humor, and alternative medicine. Trained staff and volunteers are present to assist you in the research of a topic through resources such as the Internet, as well as, the books and tapes.

Hope and courage through support and information
