Diagnostic X-ray

Introduction

Diagnostic x-ray is used to diagnose many different problems with different organs and systems throughout the body.

Athens Regional Medical Center uses a Digital Radiography/Fluoroscopy System to take high-resolution digital radiographs. This new digital system is much faster than conventional x-ray machines and drastically reduces the patients' radiation exposure.

Because the images taken by the equipment are digital, the images can be sent between computers for other physicians to view. All images are maintained in electronic form so physicians can access the images at anytime without having the physical films.
