Preparation for CAT Scan

How Do I Prepare?
For many procedures in CAT scan there are specific preparations and restrictions, which will be discussed with your doctor’s office at the time of scheduling. These vary by procedure and you need to consult your doctor’s office or call Radiology Scheduling at (706) 475-9729 if you have any questions.

Please let your doctor know if you are allergic to iodine or shellfish or if you take oral diabetic medications (Glucophage or Glucovance).

If you need to have oral contrast you can pick up your two bottles at the Physician’s Imaging Center M-F 8:00 am until 4:30 pm. Contrast may also be obtained from the Radiology front desk at any time.
