To qualify for home health services, a physician must first determine the need for home care and order the necessary training and treatments. With the input of the home health team, the physician develops and oversees the management of the patient's plan of care. Insurance coverage, along with home health policies and regulations, identify qualifying conditions patients must meet before home health care may be provided. A personal physician or an Athens Regional Home Health employee will assess your coverage prior to starting services. Under the direction of your physician, skilled providers, such as Registered Nurses, Medical Social Workers, Speech Therapists, Physical Therapists and Occupational Therapists, visit the patient's home to provide necessary treatment and instruction.
