ARMC Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
Athens Regional Medical Center will offer an American Heart Association
Heartsaver Course on Saturday, August 17 from 1-5 p.m. The class covers
CPR for adults, children and infants. Participants will receive a two-year
certification card at the end of the course. Registration required.
The cost of the class is $40 per person. Call ARMC's Health Education
at 475-5620 for more information.
Cardiac Rehabilitation Program
Athens Regional Medical Center is pleased to offer a Cardiac Rehabilitation
Program for our community. It is for people who have heart problems
such as recent heart attack, balloon treatment (angioplasty), or open
heart surgery. A doctor's order is required. The program helps people
improve their health by designing an individualized program for them
that includes monitored exercise, activity, and education on what they
can do to improve their health. The Cardiac Rehabilitation area is located
on the first floor of the Medical Services Building, accessible from
the King Avenue entrance. Call 475-5960 for more information.
Nutrition Counseling Services
Athens Regional Medical Center offers nutrition counseling. Meet with
a registered dietitian for individualized nutrition recommendations.
No referral is necessary, by appointment only. The cost is $25 for initial
visit and $15 for follow-up. Call Jennifer Burnell at 475-2252 for more
information or call ARMC's Nutritional Services at 475-3686 to schedule
an appointment.
CPR, First Aid, and Bloodborne Pathogens Class
This one-day program is designed for business and industry medical first
response teams. The next class is scheduled for Tuesday, March 22, 2005,
from 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Cost is $50 per person. Call (706) 475-5620
