Healthcare Provider CPR The BLS Healthcare Provider Course is designed to teach the skills of CPR for victims of all ages (including ventilation with a barrier device, a bag-valve-mask device, and oxygen); use of an AED; and relief of foreign-body airway obstruction. It is intended for participants who provide heath care to patients in a wide variety of settings, including in-hospital and out-of-hospital. Intended Audience: Healthcare providers, such as physicians, nurses, paramedics, emergency medical technicians, respiratory therapists, physical and occupational therapists, nurse practitioners/physician's assistants, any healthcare professional students, and other allied health personnel. The four hour complete course is for those who have never taken a healthcare provider CPR class or whose current CPR certification has expired more than 30 days. The three hour re-certification course is for those whose current CPR certification has not expired more than 30 days. $40 COURSE FEE. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) The ACLS Provider Course provides the knowledge and skills needed to evaluate and manage the first 10 minutes of an adult ventricular fibrillation/ventricular tachycardia (VF/VT) arrest. Providers are expected to learn to manage 10 core ACLS cases: a respiratory emergency, four types of cardiac arrest (simple VF/VT, complex VF/VT, PEA and asystole), four types of prearrest emergencies (bradycardia, stable tachycardia, unstable tachycardia and acute coronary syndromes) and stroke. The 2-day complete course is for those who have never taken ACLS before, current ACLS certification has expired more than 30 days, &/or those clinicians who do not utilize their ACLS skills frequently. The 1-day re-certification course for those whose current ACLS certification has not expired more than 30 days. The renewal is recommended for clinicians who utilize their ACLS skills frequently and can interpret rhythm strips.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) The PALS Provider Course provides knowledge and skills to recognize infant and children at risk for cardiopulmonary arrest, strategies needed to prevent cardiopulmonary arrest in infants and children, and cognitive and psychomotor skills needed to resuscitate and stabilize infants and children in respiratory failure, shock or cardiopulmonary arrest. The 2-day complete course is for those who have never taken PALS before, current PALS certification has expired more than 30 days, &/or those clinicians who do not utilize their PALS skills frequently. The 1-day re-certification course for those whose current PALS certification has not expired more than 30 days. The renewal is recommended for clinicians who utilize their PALS skills frequently.
