About Athens Regional Foundation
In 1985, a group of community volunteers met with the administration of Athens Regional Medical Center to discuss the concept of providing a means for community support for programs and equipment beyond the financial scope of the medical center. The development program of ARMC was thus established. The mission of the Athens Regional Foundation is to provide a link between Athens Regional Medical Center and the people of our community. To achieve this link, the Foundation has a four-fold purpose including providing a means to generate needed funds to maintain and expand the availability of services to the greater community, involving and educating area citizens with Athens Regional Medical Center's health care services, providing a forum for increased dialogue between community, business leaders and ARMC, and identifying community health education and service needs and implement programs to meet those needs.
Knowing that the Athens Regional Foundation exists because of and for our volunteers, we are committed to providing community involvement, worthwhile seminars on health care topics, meaningful projects for our volunteers and prompt response to questions about the Medical Center, while seeking philanthropic support for projects to complement the mission of Athens Regional Medical Center. We will also provide to our donors confidentiality and appropriate recognition for their contributions. We pledge to maintain an atmosphere of sincerity and cordiality to our volunteers, prospects and donors. We will follow these principles knowing that our department serves as liaison to the community to benefit Athens Regional Medical Center.
