AuxiliaryThe ARMC Auxiliary began in 1963 and has more than 100 members, attracting volunteers of various ages and backgrounds. Auxiliary gifts have been used for patient room furnishings, patient equipment, the Commencement Center, Safe Kids Ambulance, the Loran Smith Center for Cancer Support, and the Breast Health Center. The Auxiliary also was the largest contributor to The Guest House, ARMC’s home-away-from-home for families of patients. The Pink Posy Gift Shop, located in the Medical Center, is the Auxiliary’s ongoing major revenue producer. Also, profits from special fundraisers, as well as the annual Dogwood Ball are designated for ARMC needs and services. These dedicated volunteers spend their time in many areas of the hospital including the Information Desks, Special Care Nursery, Pre-Op Short Stay, Employee Health, Pediatrics, Patient Transport, Social Work Services, Guest Services, Endoscopy, and Receiving. Also, Auxilians staff “Well and Wise Readers” by reading to children in our Pediatric Rehabilitation waiting areas. The ARMC Auxiliary is held in high esteem for their devotion to ARMC and their efforts to enhance outstanding healthcare for the northeast Georgia community.
